In the news... May 13, 2008 Bay Windows: Youth Pride charts progress and problems still facing LGBT youth
"At the post-march festival, Mark Snyder, founder of the activist group QueerToday.com and one of the honorees of this year’s Youth Pride, also fired up the crowd’s activist spirit. He urged the youth to hold adult activists in the community accountable to progressive values. 'At QueerToday.com...we believe in direct action and speaking out and forming coalitions, and we think it’s important for young people like us to hold the adults in our community accountable, too. If you don’t think the adults in our community should endorse pro-war candidates or anti-immigrant candidates or anti-women’s rights candidates, let me here you,' shouted Snyder, prompting cheers from the audience."
My father had been missing for days, and I had begun to accept that he was likely dead, when I discovered that he had been arrested at a fast food restaurant for agreeing to pay for sex with an undercover cop and a fictitious minor. I know now that he gave a bondsman a bad check and ran. He ran far.
Paranoid and malnourished, he began to lose his mind while fleeing from Pennsylvania to South Florida. A young woman called my grieving mother to tell her that a man had given her…
As a socialist and as a person who believes strongly in expressing solidarity with movements for full equality and liberation I find myself conflicted with how to deal with the prioritization of winning marriage equality for same-sex couples among progressive organizations.
I do believe strongly that gay and lesbian couples deserve the right to marry and most certainly deserve the 1400+ rights that come with the institution of marriage. I also believe that marriage is a…
The conservative candidate that HRC endorsed over her more progressive challenger is currently the key figure in stalling the vote on repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell (She has also held up health care and a host of other social justice causes.)
And if you're looking for even MORE irony - Susan Collins' opponent Tom Allen had a higher rating on HRC's OWN score card!
"Collins declared, before the postponement, that she would not vote to bring the bill to the Senate floor if… Continue
Wow, Lance Black. Wow. You should have known better than to denounce HRC in cooperation with the Log Cabin Republicans (If that is what you did, the Advocate's spotty reporting makes it unclear!) You do realize that the HRC sponsored their dinners before, right? You do realize HRC endorses the same Republicans and conservatives (Susan Collins, Joe Lieberman, and others) that fought against and/or held up progress on health care, international peace, womens' rights, and a host of other social… Continue

Please send your good wishes to our hero Bradley Manning. He listed QueerToday.com as one of his favorite websites on his facebook page before he was arrested for releasing documents about the United States war on Afghanistan to WikiLeaks. Bradley exposed the United States for the horrific crimes committed against innocent civilians. He is a hero, a champion of transparency and democracy. Please send him a note.

The question stands: Will President Obama (the first openly Black man to become President of the United States) nominate the first openly gay man to the position and CHANGE the discourse in America? We shall find out if the rhetoric throughout the campaign was sincere.Last December, The Washington Times reported that some top retired military leaders and some Democrats in Congress backed…See More
"This is amazing news. I have a few clients in MA who are ecstatic of this new development. Last September, I was told by the legal cousnel of the MA DMV that the policy change did not pass but thankfully, after GLAD's relentless efforts, we…"
Thank you so much for putting Queertoday.com together! You are definitely going on my list of inspirational people. I saw you and your partner in “The Butch Factor” and as soon as I heard about Queertoday.com I made a profile. Collaboration is the thing that the queer community needs most right now. You do such a great job at incorporating a wide range of diverse people and issues/topics. I hope to get other Minnesotans to join. I’m going to try to get as many organizations linked to this. I plan on posting emails and event colanders that I’ve gotten from District 202, Outfront MN, Out 4 Good, Freedom to Marry, Get Equal, some of my own writing and etc. Thank you so much for creating such an important tool for the collaboration of the queer community and for being such an amazing representative!
