Tila Tequila Takes Credit for California Gay Marriage

MTV reality queen Tila Tequila says she played a part in California recently dropping its ban on gay marriage.

"It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement," she told Usmagazine.com at the Hollywood premiere of The Love Guru on Wednesday.

"Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships]," she said. "Then they realized, 'Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.' The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal."

Does she want to get hitched?

"I definitely want to," she said. "Definitely."

Does she ever lean more towards one sex than the other?

"I do," she said. "Sometimes you feel like you get a little too much of one side, and you feel like the other side is better."

This summer, Tequila — who is writing a "self-help" book — says she won't fall in love with a boy or girl.

"I am going to Africa," she told Us. "I think maybe I will fall in love in Africa."

Excuse me while I loose faith in humanity, curl up into a ball, and begin to cry. MTV must be stopped.

If by "must be stopped," you mean "is amazing," then I agree. This is hilarious!!!!! We can now not only give her credit for her sharply written educational programming, but also for her overall contributions for the betterment of society. With talent like that, I wouldn't be surprised if she was at least partially responsible for marriage itself, if not the concept of civil rights as a whole.
