vlog: 5 Concerns about the National Equality March

Marriage Equality Clarification: I support being active in the movement for marriage equality, although I believe it was wrong to make it our community's top priority over the last 7 years. I also support broadening the debate and ensuring that our movement is multifaceted. QueerToday.com has signed the beyondmarriage.org document.

While I do not support everything NGLTF does, such as supporting Hate Crimes legislation, I certainly think they provide a great venue for activists at the annual Creating Change conferences.

Awesome video Mark. I really did enjoy it and I really do hope there are heaps of others with the same view over there and here as well.

I agree with you. I am planing on going only because I believe that visibility is important. But marriage is not a big concern of mine and mind you I can get marry here in CT. I just think that the marriage argument is traveling to close to the hetero normative structure, and I'm not sure if I want to encourage it. But I can understand the anguish of those that do not have marriage equality protection. I do want more attention to be brought up against hate crimes. That needed to stop yesterday. And as for DADT, I am an armyphobe, yet it does not sit well with me that our LGBTG military members have to be excluded from service because of coming out. And like you I am not sure about the timing too, but I am hopeful that the platform for the march can be inclusive of the Health Care Reform with consideration to the HIV communities in particular. Thanks for posting this video

Right on Mark! I will spend what it takes me to get to DC from Connecticut on one of our groups here. CT. Tans. Coalition needs money, (still no rights here), the Health Collective needs money, the youth groups need money, the food panty is running dry and on and on. Connecticut is cutting, cutting, cutting the budget on all sorts or services.

Yes I like the spirit of the march but that is it.

P.S you look and sound great.

Thank you Richard. Our Governor is scary. She participated in the corruption before, she got her sympathy for her cancer episode, yet she still catering for the wealthy here in Ct. I think that her privilege does not allow her to think deep.
