"Wendy Ho's" Racist Tour of America

"Wendy Ho" is a character created by a woman who is touring gay bars across the country garnering laughs for her very racist act. She wears a blond "afro," makes jokes about herself being black, while speaking and singing in a way that exaggerates common stereotypes of black people. Her first joke is about how her name is "Asian," because, you know, all Asian's have funny names....

Her website says her humor is "afro-centric."

Tonight at the Cinch in San Francisco, a bar known to be very queer and politically left, she performed for a crowd that was divided among those who laughed and cheered, and those who booed and were disgusted. I bet if she had black-face on instead of her blond afro people might have thought twice.

Update: The Cinch and organizers have apologized and will never invite Wendy Ho again.
